We have been talking a lot about getting online exposure and optimizing your website ranking in our previous newsletter. We will be talking about the Payment Options available for Online Business Owners. There are several options available in the market such as Direct Bank-in (for local customer), credit card or charge card, Telegraphic Transfer, International Bank Draft, Paypal and etc. No matter which way we prefer, we must make sure it will be convenient for our potential customer.

Let’s talk about the available Payment Options

Direct Bank-In: It is only valid for local customer and only limit to the customer of your country only. No doubts it is the easiest way to do, but it will be very hard to monitor when we have a lot of transactions to handle per day. You might need to have multiple bank accounts in order to support different customer requirement.
Credit Card or Charge Card: A very convenient way for customer who already has credit card to use the service but you needs to have a merchant account with bank. A processing fee will be charged for all transaction. You need to have a very secure system to perform credit card transaction in order to prevent any fraud or problem from the transaction.
Telegraphic Transfer(TT): It is the most common payment method for corporate when dealing with overseas customer. You can send unlimited fund to your overseas customer with very minimal charges. It is the most secure way for making a payment to overseas customer.
International Bank Draft: It is like local cheque system but it is not efficient for Online Business. It can take up to 1 months to clear the International Bank Draft.
Paypal: It is an international online payment method which is very good for suitable for local and international customer. It has integrated to most of the credit card system as well as local bank support. You can easily make and receive payment in most of the country with a very minimal fee.

Electronic commerce focuses on the use of ICT to enable the external activities and relationships of the business with individuals, groups and other businesses.

Traditional business is an organizational entitywhich is often thought of as a store, restaurant or agency and is designed to provide consumer goods or services. Traditional businesses are all about huge transactions in order to pay off bills, salaries and also get owners' worth in investment. As an owner, traditional businesses may be very profitable; however, it is important to note that about 60% fail early on in the process due to the high fees involved in running and marketing the business brand.

The major difference of both business models are the use of latest technology and Internet to promote their company and product online. In 2011, we have done something different and first ever in the world on 26 March, 8:30pm to 9:30pm. We have decided to turn off our Online Business Portal for an hour to reduce the server loading and power consumption. Last month, I have been traveling around for work & holiday. As such, I have been visiting the LCCT airport quite frequently. LCCT airport is Malaysia Biggest Airport for Low Cost Carrier - AirAsia.com. There were a lot of taglines and slogans around but the most eye-catching one was located in the wash room. It was from Airasia GoInsure if I am not mistaken and it sounds something like "You enjoy your trip and let's someone else clear your mess". I do like the idea behind of this slogan.

It is the same apply for business environment.You just want to concentrate on your core business but let others to handle your supporting system or value-added service. I do recall a friend of mine telling me a couple of similar stories and most significant one is fromCitibank Credit Card. He claimed that Citibank is focusing on marketing its credit card product and outsourced the backend system to Third Party Company. At first, I was questioning about the feasibility of it but then based on the current success of Citibank Credit Card service, I do think it is a wise and correct decision from its management team.

Most often in today business, we tend to cut down the operation cost and trying to do all work by ourselves. How is AllCompanyOnline.com Performed Lately?

To cut down from our commercial talk and marketing talk, we wish to go straight into the point. We are growing very rapidly and getting more visitors by day. Until today, we are proud to announce that we have more than 1,700 unique visitors per day and with more than 50,000 page views per month as tracked by Google Analytics service. Our registered members have also exceeded 1,400 since July 2010. With our great effort and determination, I am optimistic that our unique visitors per days can be doubled and have at least 100,000 page view per month at the end of 2010.

We are always there to provide free & useful company & business information for the public and this idea has been getting a very huge acceptance from our customer as well as visitors. We do receive a lot of encouragement from our partner who works with us for mutual benefits. It is in line with our government policy to push SME business to the world and getting more online exposure.

Are we big enough to be one of the major players in providing company information to the world? I doubt so until I get a notification from one of my partner today. It is indeed a good as well as bad news to us. We have been seen as a competitor to a Malaysia well-organized & famous Business Portal and I need to stop working with my existing partner due to their business relationship with the Business Portal. I do feel pity to the Internet User as they have been denied from getting free company information for their business use. No offense to my partner as I do respect their decision and removed their logo at AllCompanyOnline.com at once.

We do understand that business is selfish and everyone understands that. In fact, we have been rejected by one of our partner before due to the same reason. But I personally think that we should not ignore & deny their right in helping the business industry to consolidate the information and make it available for the public. If we don’t wish to help, at least we shouldn’t put them on the spot.

Since it is an IT project & initiative from a Malaysian, we hope that the Malaysia Authority especially MDec, MAVCAP, Matrade is interested to join our effort and support us to promote more Malaysia Company to the world and improve our International Sales. We are very sad & disappointed to know that we could not find and reach the right person & agency to provide such facility & support to us.

It is not an easy task and we have never think of giving up. As we are planning to grow our business portal abroad, we might be looking for another alternative and working with foreign authority if they are interested to joint our effort.

A web site is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such as the Internet or a private local area network.

A web page is a document, typically written in plain text interspersed with formatting instructions of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML, XHTML). A web page may incorporate elements from other websites with suitable markup anchors.

To put in a simple term, website is an identity representing an organization, company or an individual. Back to the early introduction of website till the dot-com boom until the dot-com bubble, we have been giving a lot of intention to the website on the Internet. Until today, people & business owner are still discussing & questioning about its importance and its doubts.

1) How importance is a website for a business?
Website is only serves as a starting point for your potential customer to know more about you. It is very important for a business/company to be exist in the Internet and searchable online. It does not need to be a very complicated design/structure. A simple webpage with company profile, product information and contact information are good enough to serve the purpose. Nowadays, people are looking for simple & clean design.

Despite the effort by the Government as well as Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in promoting the use of ICT in Malaysia, the penetration rate of Malaysia Businesses using the ICT/Web/Email is not encouraging and efficient enough.

As being one of the cheapest resources for putting your company information online and getting vast exposure of Internet User, business owner tends to ignore the importance of it. Even though we do see company setting up their business online, with their own website and email addresses, a lot of the time this website is not updated from time to time. It is the same as goes to their email account. No doubt they have a general or support email address for their business, a lot of the time the email address has been swarm with spam and unsolicited email. Due to our tight schedule and some unforesee issue, we have missed 2 consecutive monthly newsletters. Anyway, we are back again and commited and to promote and market for allcompanyonline.com. We are working on some big plan for the year 2010. It will be a year full of excitement.

For Year 2010, we have listed down a few of our tasks:

a) As our objective to protect our environment, we are very committed to promote the effort of going GREEN. Since AllCompanyOnline is aiming to list all company information online, we have a centralized database of hundred over thousand records and it is keep on increasing as we have our crawling bot working. Google Wave Account For Today

It have been following closely with the Google Wave latest announcement since it started for Beta. Registered as a member and pending for the availability, I finally manage to get its notification email today with username and password given. Out of my expectation, it receives 2 set of login information rather than one. One is for Real Access and the other is the Sandbox Access.

I can't wait for trying and get the first feel of it. I straight away logon to the Google Wave and it first ask me to change my password. After changing password, I have been brought to the Google Wave UI. It is so impressive and it feels like an APPS rather than a webs. Following is the GUI for Google Wave.

I have tried a few things
1) The speed of the server is acceptable and fast enough. You can have a real time interaction with the user. In fact, it will also show you what the user are typing.
2) Add a contact/user. It is pretty easy to add, just click on the user and you can add the contact.
3) You can share the Google Map and even pointing your location. I do see some people playing games as well but I still haven't find out that part yet.

Anyway, as in normal Beta version, my wave has clashes at least 2 times within an hour and it request me to refresh my browser. It is fair enough sometimes might due to the connection problem and probably not because of Wave issue.

I have been talking so much on the features but is it related to us? Yes, indeed it is. If you have read about my newsletter or press release for the past, you will know that I hope to integrate the Google Wave into http://www.allcompanyonline.com. We can build an online community and making it so easy in doing business. As I am still new in this, I still need to make a deeper study and integrate it with our directory.

Believe it or not, we might be the first online business directory using Google Wave for Business Purpose and yet it is for Free.

We have been mistakenly blacklisted by the China Firewall previously and a lot of China visitor and partner is unable to access our website.

Today, I am so surprise to see the Baidu Robot crawling my page on my monitor page. Is it already get de-listed from China Firewall is my first thought. Please have a look on the screenshot.

I am so happy to get to know that as Baidu Robot is mainly from China IP Address. After that, I try to contact with several partner from China and surprisingly all of them are able to access my page and start using it.
